Yoana Romanova
Yoana joined Gugushev & Partners in October 2023 as part of the Real Estate Department. At the moment, she is a fifth-year law student at Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski”.
During her studies at the university, she participated in a number of national and international law competitions, including such in human rights, EU law, international commercial mediation, international commercial arbitration, and administrative law and procedure.
In the period of 2021-2023, she was educated in a specialized training in a joint English Law program between Sofia University and University of Cambridge and obtained a BLC Diploma in English Law and Legal Skills and a Diploma in Commercial Law.
In 2022, she took 2nd place in the Academic Forum for Writing Research Papers with an article on "Diplomatic Immunities and Privileges - Legally Justified Protection or an Opportunity for Abuse?" and her article was published in lex.bg.
She is a two-time winner of the 2nd place award in the category "Law and Administration" in the competition "Talent of the Year" (2021 and 2023). In 2023 she took 3rd place in the category "Legal Sciences" in the competition "Student of the Year" and was awarded the annual award "Alma Mater" by the Rector of Sofia University for achievements in the educational sphere.
She has undergone a Certification training of the Professional Association of Mediators in Bulgaria (PAMB), meeting the International Mediation Institute (IMI) standards and is registered in the Unified Register of Mediators at the Ministry of Justice.
Yoana has a strong interest in contract, property and commercial law, as well as civil procedure.
Professional experience:
In 2021, she was an intern at the EU Policies and Institutions Directorate of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and in 2022-2023 and 2023-2024 she is a Fulbright intern, working with judges from Sofia City and Sofia District Courts.
In her work at the law firm, she assists lawyers by researching case law and drafting documents and opinions.
