Gugushev & Partners Law Office advised the client in connection with a transaction with OMV in Vienna concerning potential participation in the Nabucco gas pipeline project, designed to transport natural gas from the Bulgarian-Turkish border to Austria.

Our work included conducting a legal analysis of the Bulgarian section of the project and providing legal advice on specific regulatory matters, including an analysis of the applicable local and European legislation relating to the transit and transmission of natural gas through the Nabucco gas pipeline across the territory of the Republic of Bulgaria. We also assisted with the review of the applicable licensing regimes and permits, conducted a legal analysis of the acquisition of rights over the relevant properties, and reviewed the detailed development plans and the procedures for their approval. Our work also covered the procedures for obtaining an environmental assessment and an environmental impact assessment for the Bulgarian section of the pipeline route.

Gugushev & Partners also assisted with the negotiations and structuring of the transaction, including the determination of the key terms for its completion and the identification of potential legal risks.
